Race-Baiting & Tax Hikes on Students
The Nevada University Board of Regents meets in Carson City this week. On tap - amidst the very serious problem of a slowing economy and the need for further belt-tightening across the state government - will be, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal, a proposal to create a “diversity task force to increase the number of minority staff, faculty, administrators and students at public universities and colleges statewide.”
As the nation attempts to move away from the race-obsessed policies of Rev. Jeremiah Wright and adopt the color-blind policies of Ward Connerly, the Nevada Board of Regents will attempt to move us forward into the past.
Also on the schedule is a plan to raise taxes on students in the form of a tuition increase. The Reno Gazette-Journal is reporting this morning that UNR President Milton Glick favors the tax hike on students, telling the paper that one of the primary goals of the tuition increase is to provide more student aid for students. Which, of course, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. We’re going to raise the tuition which will make it harder for students to afford college in order to provide more student aid to make it easier for students to afford college? Sounds like “new math” gone wild to me. And that’s the Lowden Line.
Isnt it amazing that whenever a liberal lands face first in a pile of guano, suddenly the rest of the world needs to be educated in all the finer points of excretion? Say, a presidential contender turns out to be the spiritual disciple of a race bating lunatic who embraces paranoid conspiracy theories about that same country his young novitiate seeks to lead. What should happen when this becomes public knowledge?
Yes, of course, the rest of the country needs instant remedial education in … Black Liberation Theology! Just this morning, Terry what’s her name of ‘Fresh Air’ on NPR, obligingly trotted out not one but two willing experts to explain how Jesus really was a social revolutionary, blah, blah, blah.
So it isn’t enought to throw Grandma under the bus, now we all must listen for the next seven months about how understandable it is to become a black racist in America.
Isn’t it simply wonderful that now, finally, we can have a civilized national discussion about race?
That will be so much better than actually talking about accomplishments, character, judgement, integrity, and suitability for office.
